Revelation Chapter 20 is one of the most exciting chapters in the Bible. The resurrection of all believers, Church Age, Old Testament, and Tribulation saints is complete. On the heels of the physical return of Jesus Christ to the earth, Satan is bound and cast into the bottomless pit for 1,000 years. The Saints reign with Jesus Christ for that 1,000 year period known as, “The Millenial Reign of Christ.” At the end of the 1,000 years, Satan is released to deceive and then gather all those who oppose Jesus Christ for a final battle. However, Satan and his followers are robbed of a battle, as Satan is cast into the lake of fire, and God destroys all of Satan’s followers (those who have rejected Jesus Christ as their Savior) with fire from heaven. Then, the Great White Throne Judgment takes place. All sinners whose names are not written in the Book of Life; all those throughout all ages who rejected God and His Son, Jesus, stand before the throne of God and are judged according to their works. They are found guilty of sin (failing to meet God’s righteous standards). The penalty of sin, death, has now come due. Because this group of sinners rejected God’s gift of salvation, offered through His Sons crucifixion, vicarious death, and atoning blood upon Calvary’s cross, they have no recourse. They are cast into the lake of fire where anti-christ, the false prophet, and Satan are.
God would not have that any would perish, but that all would come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ (2 Peter 3:9). The Bible says, “For whoever calls upon the name of the Lord shall be saved” (Romans 10:13). “If you declare that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you shall be saved” (Romans 10:9). Won’t you give your heart to Jesus today? He is ready to pardon, gracious and merciful! Jesus loves you!
