I am curious why Jesus said to John “behold your mother”, rather than leave her care to James or Jude??? Were these brothers not at the crucifixion?
Thank you for such in-depth study of the word.

Hi Doris, They were not believers, so Jesus put Mary in the trust of his faithful and beloved disciple, John. There is no mention of any of his brothers in attendance at His crucifixion. The brothers accepted Jesus as the Christ upon seeing Him resurrected from the dead. Following the Lord’s ascension, we see them together with the apostles and Mary praying (Acts 1:13).
