Children’s Ministries - Team Leader
Responsibilities and Expectations
Purpose:
Children’s Ministries is the teaching ministry from nursery to 6th grade. The Team Leader serves our Teachers and Classroom Servants, as they prepare to teach and show God’s kids about the love of God.
Responsibilities:
A.To interface with our teachers to provide support and materials needed to effectively run
their class.
B. To encourage and pray for teachers and servants.
C. To work with the Supervising Elder in examining and determining curriculum,
resource materials and supplies available to our teachers.
Desired Results / Expectations:
A. To foster a positive learning environment within our ministry.
B. To encourage personal and spiritual growth among the teachers.
C. To help ensure that our children have the best opportunity available to develop a
personal relationship with Jesus Christ and mature in their faith.
Children’s Ministries – Teacher
Responsibilities and Expectations
Purpose:
Children’s Ministries is the teaching ministry from nursery to 6th grade. We have teaching opportunities for 2 years old to 6th grade. We will train and equip you with everything you need to teach the word of God to His little lambs.
Responsibilities:
A.To greet each child as they arrive, check them off on the attendance roster, give them
a name tag and direct them to the activity in progress.
B. To welcome visitors and help to make them feel comfortable by answering any
questions they may have.
C. To encourage and pray for other members of the teaching team and the children in
your class.
Desired Results / Expectations:
A. To foster a positive learning environment within your class.
B. To encourage personal and spiritual growth among students.
After Service Prayer Counselor
Responsibilities and Expectations
Purpose:
Assisting and praying with new believers and individuals rededicating their lives to the Lord. Will assist individuals in learning the Word of God and maturing their Christian faith.
Responsibilities:
Meeting the needs of new believers and people rededicating their life to the Lord. Counselors prepared for altar calls will provide prayer, biblical counseling and assist pastors as requested. After Service Prayer Counselor will also contact new believers as a means of follow-up, attend special functions as requested, assist in training new members and help coordinate events. Counselors also attend general and leadership meetings as requested.
Desired Results / Expectations:
A group of counselors who, after an altar call, will meet with individuals who have come forward and dedicated or rededicated their lives to the Lord. Counselors will provide prayer, direction and information regarding their new found faith in Christ Jesus. Specifically, individuals will be given a packet providing information that will assist new believers in starting the study of the Bible. In addition, individuals will be encouraged to register for our Foundations Classes.
Prayer Ministry - People to Pray
Responsibilities and Expectations
Purpose:
To cover our services, pastor and staff in prayer.
Responsibilities:
Arrive for one or both services and pray through the service for the Word to permeate the heart of all those in attendance.
Pray for the salvation of the lost who are present.
Pray for our pastor or guest speaker to be empowered by the Holy Spirit to proclaim the Word of God in love, unhindered with power and authority.
Desired Results / Expectations:
For our Worship Services to be Spirit lead, Spirit filled, God empowered, without distraction or hindrance and for the lives of all those attending to be changed, challenged and encouraged.
Ushers/Greeter
Responsibilities and Expectations
Purpose:
The Usher Ministry plays a vital role in creating a welcoming, worshipful environment at all services. Ushers assist with greeting and welcoming church members and visitors into the sanctuary, and helping them to find seats, as needed. Ushers also help maintain order during the service, by quietly directing late comers to available seating. Following the service, the usher ministry is responsible for picking up bulletins in the sanctuary.
If you are a friendly, helpful person who likes to share the Love of Jesus, consider using your gifts in the Usher Ministry.
Responsibilities:
The essential function of this ministry is to provide genuine hospitality while offering assistance and guidance in a gracious, courteous and caring manner. Usher/Greeters ensure order is maintained throughout service, turn in items to Lost and Found, collect bulletins and/or trash left behind in the sanctuary.
Desired Results / Expectations:
People are warmly and sincerely welcomed to Calvary Taos and made to feel loved as Jesus loves us.
Maintain a worshipful, courteous and orderly environment during the message.
Mid-Week Service - Children's Teacher/Teacher’s Aid
Responsibilities and Expectations
Purpose:
To provide a loving and fun atmosphere for children to learn more about God our Savior Jesus Christ, and the Bible through Bible study and fun activities.
Responsibilities:
To lead or assist with a small group of children in an established curriculum during the mid-week service.
Desired Results / Expectations:
Children of all ages would grow in their knowledge of Jesus Christ and would have a deeper relationship with Him, and have fun doing it!
Church Maintenance Volunteers
Responsibilities and Expectations
Purpose:
Calling all construction tradesmen, journeymen electricians, plumbers, framers, dry wall/plaster/stucco contractors and concrete workers. If you have a servant’s heart and would like to volunteer your skills, services or materials for the updating of our church facility, we have volunteer opportunities available for you.
If you simply have a strong back and the heart to volunteer to help us with our remodeling needs we have volunteer opportunities available for you as well.
Expectations:
That we as the tradesmen, construction workers and contractors in our church family, can continue to be the best stewards of our building and property by working together, volunteering our time, skills, talents and knowledge to develop the building and property that the Lord has entrusted to us, to it’s fullest potential.
Junior High & High School Student Ministries
Ministry Leader Assistants
Responsibilities and Expectations
Purpose:
- To minister to Junior High and High School students.
- To encourage students in their personal relationship with the Lord.
- To provide a weekly conduit for students to partake in Bible study and encouraging, uplifting Christian fellowship.
Responsibilities:
- Teach or assist in teaching a small group weekly Bible Study.
- Help in the planning, preparation and leading of fun activities weekly with the students.
- Become acquainted with the available opportunities for our students to volunteer and be of help in our community for the purpose of being good ambassadors of God’s love.
- Fundraising for youth events and trips.
