The pastor in this church spoke on the movie, the Chosen and used it as an example of Jesus’s life. You all need to watch this clip on it to understand it’s apostasy. They’re adding to the scriptures and demeaning our Lord. Mormons wrote it and put it together. Not Protestants. I would leave you an email about it but I don’t have one. For you on this website I cannot go back to your church because if your pastor is studied he should understand that the chosen is apostasy and a sick rendition of Our Lord.
I am the pastor of Calvary Taos. I have never referred to the movie “The Chosen.” I have not seen the movie. If you listen to the recorded message of my sermon on the Rapture of the Church you will not find any reference to any movie.
It is my understanding through an interview with the show’s creator and writer Dallas Jenkins, that there is no input from the Mormon church or Mormon theology in the writing of the series. Dallas Jenkins is a born-again evangelical Christian. He has complete control over the content of the series. The guest speaker at Calvary Taos last Sunday, mentioned the series in context to giving a quote from the creator of the series. The quote was right on the mark theologically, and very thought-provoking.
